Ryan McCartan
BIO
Ryan McCartan currently plays Hans in Disney’s Frozen on Broadway. In 2018, Ryan made his Broadway debut as Fiyero in Wicked. Ryan also premiered new musicals off-Broadway: the lead role of JD in Heathers The Musical at New World Stages and the lead role of Mac in Scotland, PA with the Roundabout Theater Company.
Ryan made his solo debut at Feinstein’s 54 Below in NYC in 2019 to rave reviews. Young audiences know Ryan as Diggie, the love interest to Maddie, on Disney Channel’s Liv & Maddie. Additional television credits include Hulu’s Freakish; Royal Pains, Midnight TX, Monday Mornings, Last Man Standing, Austin and Ally, and The Middle.
Ryan was thrilled to be a part of Fox Television’s remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show as the lead role of Brad Majors, directed by Kenny Ortega. Ryan’s film, The Stand-Off, playing the lead role opposite Olivia Holt, was released in 2016. Ryan was happy to work on Emma’s Chance and bring awareness to the Red Bucket Equine Rescue Ranch in Chino Hills, CA where the film was shot. An original Film, Summer Forever was released digitally by Maker Studios and Relativity Media. Ryan played the love interest to Megan Nicole who wrote the new musical. Ryan is seen in The Cabinet of Souls, part of R.L. Stine's Monsterville franchise, with Peter DeLuise directing.
Ryan McCartan hails from Excelsior, MN where he worked at The Guthrie Theater, the Children’s Theatre Company, the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre, The Old Log Theater, and The History Theatre. Ryan’s original music is available on Spotify, iTunes and most other music outlets.
