BIO

Kaitlyn Louise Smith is a NYC-based actress currently in the First National Tour of Mean Girls. Previously she played the role of Tracy Turnblad in the inaugural production of Hairspray on Royal Caribbean's The Symphony of the Seas. She has performed regionally, taught and adjudicated dance internationally and was on faculty at the National Dance Institute in NYC. She received her BFA in Musical Theatre from Indiana University.

"Teaching has always been a huge passion of mine and somewhere I have always wanted to take my career. I have done a number of masterclasses and Q&A's for college programs including Manhattan School of Music, Southwestern, and of course my Alma Mater, Indiana University. Aside from the work that I have done with students privately, I have also taught at a number of community art & dance institutions and have taught and adjudicated for dance competitions and conventions. I'm so passionate about teaching because young artists not only need a cheerleader, but they need an example. “If I can do it, you can too”. Mentorship is something often overlooked in a vocation that completely relies upon teacher and student relations and passing down our training and traditions. My ability to mentor and inspire is something I can uniquely offer."
