Elle McLemore is an American actress who originated the role of pint-size super villain Eva, in the Tony Nominated- Bring it On: The Musical- alongside “Hamilton” masterminds Lin-Manuel Miranda, Andy Blankenbuehler, and Alex Lacamoire. She made her national tour debut, In the same role before taking it to Broadway.
After that, she trader her Pom-Pom’s in for a yellow croquet mallet, originated one of the title roles, Heather McNamara, in the original Off-Broadway cast of Heathers: The Musical at New World Stages. Prior to moving the show to NYC, she workshopped the role in the world premiere, at the Hudson Theatre in LA.
In 2012, A month before “Bring it On the Musical” closed at the St. James on Broadway, Elle flew out to LA for one day, where she missed her first performance ever, to screen test for the ABC/ Lifetime’s “Army Wives.” She booked a series regular role in the seventh season of the series, and portrayed young Army wife Holly Truman. Her husband was later cast as teen pop star, Jesse McCartney. Their storyline that season would represent the struggles of young military couples dealing with PTSD. She starred alongside Sterling K. Brown, Brooke Shields, and others in that final season.
In 2016, you may have recognized her again as Rydell High’s favorite cheerleader, Patty Simcox, in Fox’s “Grease: Live” which received 12.18 million views and won four Emmys. Other TV credits include:. Disney’s “The Suite Life On Deck”, ABC’s “The Middle”, NBC’s “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.”
Elle is no stranger to the stage, as her roots are in show business. She grew up in show business family in Las Vegas, Nevada. At the age of only four, she went on tour with a magic show with her whole family in “Melinda The First Lady of Magic.” Her mom was a dancer/ dance captain, father a Pyrotechnician, and Elle did the show nightly, with her older sister, Brittany, performing the levitation act, and playing the younger version of “Melinda.” She was raised in Las Vegas until she moved to Los Angeles by herself at seventeen- a month after high school graduation, to pursue a career in acting.
Elle is a strong advocate for mental health, body positivity, and equality. She believes to have a career of longevity and fulfillment, taking care of yourself first is paramount. “Live like no one else has, so you can GIVE like no one else has.”
